STEWARDSHIP
OF PRAYER UPDATE
This spring, we asked every parishioner to consider
making a deeper commitment to intentional, deliberate prayer through the Stewardship
of Prayer campaign. Throughout the campaign, 269 of us returned prayer
commitment cards.
People across the parish are praying more
frequently, and you can be a part of it. Whether you filled out a card or not,
whether you’re 100% on your commitment or not, take some time today to pray.
Parishioners Larry
and Anniee Cervetti share some of their thoughts:
Prayer has always been a big part of our lives. On
one of the first dates my dates my husband and I had, we attended Mass
together. To us it’s like drinking your morning coffee; prayer is something
that is part of our life every day.
As
Catholics, we feel the need to pray to God to thank Him for what He has given
us: a wonderful life, a strong marriage, two beautiful daughters and most
importantly, a strong foundation for our faith.
As husband and wife, we pray asking God to continue
to bless our marriage. As parents, it’s important to us to pray as a family so
our daughters will appreciate its importance. Praying as a family will
emphasize its wonderful spiritual value and should encourage our children to pass
down our example to their children just like our parents and grandparents have
done for us. Ultimately, we have learned that to truly become disciples of
Christ and to one day be with God in heaven, we must follow Christ’s
example. We do this by asking God for
guidance and listening to His answers.
We can only do this by praying.
