Room in the Inn

ROOM IN THE THE INN IS BACK!

Each year 37,000 homeless people die in the U.S. Most die because of inadequate shelter and exposure to the elements. The goal of Room in the Inn is to offer a safe, warm shelter on a cold night.

St. Louis Church is hosting the 3rd Wednesday of every month beginning November thru March. This will be at the Ozanam Center (St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen) 1306 Monroe Ave., 38104.

WE NEED YOU! Volunteering with the RITI helps us to refocus on what is important and reminds us that we are all children of God. Although our guest number will be smaller due to the Covid- 19 restrictions ( Only 8 guests) the need is still great.

Vaccinations are required for all RITI staff, guests, and volunteers(those volunteering at the site) participating in the Congregational Winter Shelter program.

Guest vaccination status will be confirmed at registration, and symptom checks will occur daily at Pick-up. Wearing masks properly is required at all times for all RITI staff, guests, and volunteers. CDC guidelines will continue to be followed as a minimum requirement, and updates will be made as necessary throughout the season.

There are plenty of ways to be involved. Some involve no contact and some involve limited contact with guests for the evening. We also need financial donations to buy underwear, socks, bras, etc. To make a donation please make your check out to RITI Memphis and add Ozanam Center in the Memo. You may also make a cash donation. You may drop off donations to the Church office or mail them to St, Louis Church, Attention: Room In The Inn, 203 S. White Station, Memphis, TN. 38117.
